The Yamaha V Star 1100 Classic repair manual has a part number. The part number for this year motorcycle is LIT-11616-CL-11 and I have verified this. The manual part number (LIT-11616-CL-11) is a combination of two manuals; the main manual and a supplement manual. The main manual is based on earlier models 1999 thru 2000 models. Then a second manual is included that covers new data and service information for later models.
Click here to view the paperback version of manual LIT-11616-CL-11. The description of the paperback book claims that the manual contains the base manual LIT-11616-12-63 and the supplement manual LIT-11616-14-23.
With that said I have found both of those manuals and they are available for instant download. Just click on the links LIT-11616-12-63 and LIT-11616-14-23. Make sure you verify these are the correct manuals before using them as a guide to perform maintenance, service and overhaul on your motorbike.
What is the different between the main service manual you linked to and the supplementary service manual?
A supplement manual is just an update. Often a vehicle manufacturer will make small mechanical changes to a machine every year or after several years. Instead of creating an entirely new service manual based on those small changes, they might publish a service manual supplement that contains all of the new data.
So if you were using a manual that also contains a supplement then you might want to check the supplement manual first because it could contain updated service information for your year and model. If no new service and data info exist in the supplement manual then refer to the main manual.
